God Calls You Warrior

This summer I have been part of an online Business/Ministry Coaching Group. In our last group session we chatted about Gideon. I honestly didn’t know much of his story but now will keep it close to my heart. I feel like so many of us can relate to his journey.

I love the part in Judges starting around 6:12 when the Angel of the Lord appears to Gideon and says “God is with you, O mighty warrior!”

Gideon is basically like “who me?” He goes on to tell the Angel how he is a nobody who comes from nobodies and he believes God has turned his people over to Midian. So surely God is not with them!

But God says “Go in this strength that is yours. Save Israel from Midian. Haven’t I just sent you?” Again Gideon is like “me?”

How often are we just like this friends? I know I have had moments in my life where I could feel God speaking dreams into my spirit or laying out a plan for me and I have said “Me God?” “Don’t you want someone more worthy?” “More qualified?”

Do you think our self-doubt shocks or intimidates God? Of course not! God called Gideon Warrior way before he became one! God calls us warrior, worthy, enough, qualified, healer, teacher, preacher, counselor, storyteller, writer, worship leader, evangelist, etc. way before we may believe those words ourselves!

Don’t doubt his voice Friends. Don’t disqualify yourself before the journey even starts. God calls you ___________ (insert your word).
Much love!

Gideon replied, β€œWith me, my master? Judges 6:11-13 MSG
